I readily admit that one of the things that got me into golf were the infinite options of cute skorts, capris, and polos that I could wear. I love how classic golf attire combines function, tradition, and casual elegance. One of my favorite memories of playing golf with my husband involves a relentlessly rainy afternoon (a rarity in Colorado), my Ross Hunting tartan with waterproof boots, and Sam in Gatsby-visits-the-Highlands wool cap and sweater.
Though women are technically exempt from the requirement a collared shirt, I almost always wear a short-sleeved or sleeveless polo, preferably in a modern fabric that allows for breathability. I was in the mood today for my light-blue Adidas skort.
I sometimes wear a dressier pair of espadrilles or wedges if we are going out for a bite after a game. Otherwise, my comfy Sperrys are just right. Other than simple stud earrings and my wedding ring, I tend to not wear jewelry when doing anything sporty.
When playing, I love the classic Callaway saddle-style shoe.
Today, we played at Heather Gardens, a lovely executive nine in Southeast Denver. My game this afternoon made me thankful that I don’t rely on the sport for my income!
Afterwards, we enjoyed a pint of Allgood Amber Ale at the Bull & Bush.
A happy Sunday to you and yours!
